Raising Hope began as a simple idea: to make a tangible difference in the lives of children most in need. Founded in 2023 by a group of passionate individuals, our organization was born out of a deep desire to address the pressing issues of child poverty, homelessness, and lack of access to education and healthcare in Egypt, the United States, Sudan, and Yemen.

Salma Ali, the founder of Raising Hope, is a high school student who was born in Egypt and later moved to San Diego. Since she was a little girl, Salma has dedicated her summers to volunteering and helping those in need in Egypt. Her experiences and passion for giving back inspired her to create Raising Hope, taking her commitment to the next level and expanding her impact on a larger scale.

From the early days of organizing small food drives and educational workshops, Raising Hope has grown into a multifaceted organization that impacts many lives each year. Our journey has been one of relentless dedication, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the power of community.
